We're looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer who will support the delivery of grid connection and renewable energy projects across the UK, contributing to the transition to a low‑carbon future.Role Responsibilities:Review preliminary project information, site surveys and assessments to identify site constraints.Produce design risk assessments with a strong focus on health and safety.Develop civil site layouts including access roads, earthworks and drainage.Prepare and review structural and foundation design calculations.Coordinate with external consultants for drainage and earthworks, including detailed design reviews.Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and client specifications.Collaborate with internal CAD teams; AutoCAD essential, Revit/Civil 3D desirable.Participate in internal and external design reviews, keeping accurate records.Work with multidisciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, environmental and commercial functions.Liaise with contractors, consultants and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.Support planning applications and permitting with technical documentation.Support project coordinators to manage drawings, documents and revisions.Contribute to continuous improvement of internal document management systems.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it (ICE or equivalent).Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit or similar advantageous.Knowledge of structural design tools such as Tekla Tedds (desirable).Experience in civil design for energy infrastructure projects, preferably renewable energy.Strong understanding of UK/EU design codes and standards (Eurocodes, BS).What's in it for you?Competitive salary and benefits package.Hybrid and flexible working options.Training and professional development support.Opportunity to work on leading renewable energy projects.Support towards Chartership (ICE or equivalent).There's a place for you at Mitie, join us today!
