Job Title: Site Engineer – BB Multi UtilitiesLocation: Coventry – HS2 ProjectContract: 3 Months PAYE, 45 hours per weekRandstad Sourceright are recruiting on behalf of Balfour Beatty for an experienced Site Engineer – Multi Utilities to join the team on the prestigious High Speed 2 (HS2) project in Coventry.This is an exciting opportunity to work within a Tier One contractor environment on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, playing a key role in the accurate delivery of civil engineering and multi-utility works — with a strong emphasis on technical setting out excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out precise and accurate setting out for civil engineering and utility works using modern surveying equipment.Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and required tolerances.Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and highway standards.Conduct quality assurance checks, inspections, and maintain detailed documentation.Produce and maintain accurate as-built surveys and site records.Coordinate works around multi-utility installations (gas, water, power, communications).Liaise effectively with site management, subcontractors, designers, and client representatives.Support programme delivery through proactive planning and sequencing of works.Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Mentor and support BBMU apprentices and graduate engineers where required.Candidate ProfileEssential:Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects (Tier One contractor experience preferred).High-level competence in setting out, including use of:GPS survey equipmentPipe LaserProven experience in highway drainage and foul drainage installation.Strong understanding of highway specifications and technical standards.Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.Valid CSCS Card.Strong attention to detail with a proactive, professional approach to safety and quality.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Desirable:Experience coordinating multi-utility installations (gas, water, power, communications).HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.SMSTS or SSSTS certification.Experience mentoring junior engineers.
