Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the worlds largest companies.To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, were looking to add an EHS Lead, located in Kendal.Reporting to the Head of EHS UK & IRE,the EHS Lead will be responsible for providing immediate supervision to a group of employees for the implementation of complex activities related to the efficient management of Environmental Health & Safety programs in offices and manufacturing sites to ensure that the required company and government standards and regulations are met.What a typical day looks like: Overall responsibility for EHS across our Kendal facilitiesUnderstand and ensure that the implications and duties imposed by legislation are communicatedCommunicate Environmental, Health & Safety matters to the Senior Management TeamEnsure adequate means of distributing and communicating health, safety and welfareinformation obtained for the regulatory bodies, Safety organisations and Trade associations regarding new techniques of accident prevention, new legislation requirements and codes of practiceEnsure that an adequate programme of training for health and safety is established and that the safety culture is encouraged amongst employeesEnsure all personnel using the correct personal protective clothing/equipment and following all safety requirements and proceduresDevelop departmental vision and build the departmental culture and work standardsStrategic and tactical responsibility for implementing Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental strategy and strategic operational goalsCoordinate and maintain Organisational Management Systems (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001) to ensure the effective management of Health, Safety and Environment matters at the Site Services Offices and on Operational SitesCreate and implement EHS strategy, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performanceReview and approve EHS activities for effective issues resolutionThe experience were looking to add to our team: Relevant degree and demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally within a large Manufacturing/Construction business Thorough knowledge of ISO: 45001 and ISO: 14001 standardsExperience working / communicating with sub-contractorsMember of IOSH or NEBOSH Ability to advise on EHS issues and lead day-to-day EHS activitiesFull driving licence is essential as travel between sites is requiredFantastic written and verbal communication skills, ability to organise own workload and use initiativeEfficient with thorough methods of working Ability to follow through on Corrective Actions and identify positive and negative actsWhat youll receive for the great work you provide: An environment where you will feel fulfilled by your work, valued for your contribution, and celebrated for your success;A competitive salary and benefits packageA merit-based annual pay reviewEnhanced annual leaveEmployee recognition scheme and long service awardsReferral bonusVolunteer daysGroup Life Insurance, including a death in service payment and access to a virtual GP service 24/7 365 days a yearSick pay schemeCycle to Work schemeEnhanced maternity/paternity leaveFlexible/Remote/HybridWork based on your Job FunctionTravel opportunities (role dependent)Support in your well-being by access toEmployee Assistance Programme offering free access to qualified counsellors and expert adviceOn-site trained Mental Health First AidersAccess to various discount programs (including food, activities, gym memberships etc.)At Flex, we welcome people of all backgrounds.
