Senior Finance Officer£30,000 £34,000 | Kendal | 37.5 hours | PermanentIm working exclusively with a well-established organisation in the South Lakes area that is looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Finance Officer.This is a varied role where youll be involved in the day-to-day running of the finance function, while also supporting month-end, reporting and audit. It would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on role but also wants exposure to the bigger picture.The roleYoull be supporting the Head of Finance and working closely with the wider team to ensure strong financial control. Responsibilities will include:Supporting purchase ledger processing and supplier payment runsPosting income and investigating discrepanciesBank, control account and intercompany reconciliationsPreparing month-end journals, accruals and prepaymentsMonitoring weekly cashflow and highlighting any issuesPreparing VAT returns Assisting with management accounts, budgets and reportingSupporting year-end and audit preparationProviding guidance and support to Finance AssistantsActing as a first point of contact for day-to-day finance queriesWhat theyre looking forSolid experience in a finance role covering reconciliations and reportingComfortable working with cloud-based systems (Xero would be an advantage)Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solvingConfident communicator who can work with non-finance colleaguesWell organised and able to manage competing deadlinesPart-qualified (AAT) or qualified by experience candidates will be considered.Candidates with no notice or short notice will be highly desirable.The opportunityThis is a stable organisation with a strong presence locally and a supportive finance structure.
