Assistant Quantity Surveyor Locations: Basingstoke (Hampshire)Projects: £100m Logistics ParkSalary: £30,000 £45,000 + packageStart: Immediate The Opportunity An established main contractor is expanding its commercial teams across two major live logistics projects and is seeking ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyors to support delivery and develop into full project QSs. These roles offer genuine site exposure, working closely with experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers on high-value schemes. This is a strong opportunity for an Assistant QS who wants more responsibility, better project exposure, and a clearer progression route. Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting in the commercial management of large construction projectsSupporting procurement of subcontract packagesPreparing and processing subcontractor paymentsAssisting with valuations, variations, and change controlCost reporting, forecasting, and record keepingSupporting final accounts and commercial close-outAttending site meetings and liaising with operational teamsAssisting in managing subcontractor relationshipsEnsuring commercial procedures and systems are followedDeveloping commercial and contractual knowledge under senior guidance What Theyre Looking ForExperience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor (preferred)Exposure to construction projects in industrial, logistics, commercial, or similar sectorsUnderstanding of subcontractor packages and cost controlAmbition to progress into a full Quantity Surveyor roleGood communication and organisation skillsA proactive, reliable, and detail-focused approachRelevant construction or commercial qualification (or working towards) Whats on Offer£30,000 £45,000 basic salary (depending on experience)Package including car allowance, pension, healthcareStructured development under strong commercial leadershipMajor projects with full project teamsLong-term workload and clear progressionA role designed to grow your responsibility, not limit itTPBN1_UKTJ
