Our global headquarters in Birmingham is home to our dedicated paper manufacturing division providing a wide range of food packaging products for the likes of McDonalds, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Greggs. HGV Class 2 DriverWe now have an opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 driver to join the team in our Birmingham Outbase. To provide a best in class, professional, efficient, safe and legally compliant delivery service.The role is offered on a full-time basis starting between 4 and 7am, guaranteed 50 hours pw. Occasional nights out are required. We offer an excellent package which includes a highly competitive remuneration; pension, and 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.Reports to:Transport ManagerThe Role HGV Class 2 Driver:Responsible for the safe, accurate and timely transportation of multiple daily cage/pallet and/or carton deliveries from outbase to customerAs first point of contact, provide excellent customer service and actively seek ways to engender a positive relationship at all timesImmediately communicate any issues encountered to central Transport hub and keep customer apprised of actions being taken to resolveLoad and unload deliveries, either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipmentPerform frequent lifting, pulling, and carrying of freightInspect vehicle for defects and safe operating condition before, during, and after trips and submit a fully completed daily vehicle check sheetMaintain interior and exterior vehicle cleanliness on a daily basisConfirm prior to outbase departure that all delivery details are available for inspection and that appropriate proof of delivery (POD) accompanies each delivery and is completed/signed off prior to leaving the customers premisesEnsure that legal compliance, Health and Safety regulations and EPUK/Outbase procedures are followed at all timesComplete drop point risk assessments as and when requiredWhen necessary, complete 1 for 1 pallet/cage repatriation and report any non-conformance, ensuring cages/pallets collected are re-usableFeedback any travel/dwell time issues as and when encountered to central Transport hub as they happenFeedback any delivery restriction issues/changes to Outbase SupervisorAny other ad-hoc reasonable duties required by EPUKThe Person HGV Class 2 Driver:Minimum 2 Years experience within a final mile delivery operationHGV 2 (Cat C) driver licence clean licence requiredDriver Qualification Card (DQC)Driver Digital Tachograph CardStrong geographical knowledge of regionHighly focused on customer serviceExcellent communication skillsMust be well presented, with a professional behaviour in key customer facing roleSelf-starter - demonstrating an energetic, hands-on approachSelf-motivated with an ability to work individually as well as within a teamTPBN1_UKTJ
