As we continue our growth trajectory, we are seeking a high-calibre Financial Controller to join our senior team and play a pivotal role in the financial management and strategic direction of the business.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and motivated Financial Controller to take full ownership of our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and Managing Director, you will lead financial reporting, control processes, and compliance functions. This is a critical, high-impact role suited to a confident professional who can combine strong technical skills with commercial insight. You will support strategic decision-making and ensure that robust financial management underpins all aspects of business performance.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and bank reconciliationsProduce accurate monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary for senior leadershipLead the preparation and submission of annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and other relevant standardsAct as the primary contact for external auditors and manage the timely and successful completion of year-end auditsDrive the companys budgeting and forecasting cycles, partnering with department heads to ensure accuracy and strategic alignmentMonitor cash flow, working capital requirements, and treasury activities to safeguard financial stabilityDesign, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and reporting proceduresProvide strategic financial insight to support key business initiatives, investment decisions, and long-term planningLead and develop the finance team to ensure high levels of technical competence, motivation, and performanceEnsure full compliance with HMRC regulations, VAT requirements, and other statutory obligationsIdentify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement systems improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracyKey RequirementsFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experienceDemonstrated success in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership roleStrong technical accounting expertise and a thorough understanding of financial regulations and standardsProven experience in managing and mentoring a finance teamHigh-level analytical and financial modelling skills with strong attention to detailAdvanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-financial stakeholdersCommercially astute, proactive, and results-driven, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentDesirable ExperienceBackground in a relevant industry such as business consultancy, professional services, or high-growth SMEsExperience supporting or leading ERP implementations or financial systems transformation projectsPrior experience in a growth-focused, entrepreneurial organisation with an evolving finance functionWhat We OfferA competitive salary of £80,000 £100,000, depending on experienceA performance-driven environment with clear opportunities for progressionExposure to strategic business decision-making at board levelA collaborative, high-energy team culture focused on innovation and impactProfessional development support and opportunities to shape the future of the finance functionTPBN1_UKTJ
