Position: Transport PlannerLocation: Morley area - LeedsSalary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOEOur client, an established logistics company are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team.The successful candidate will be responsible for planning routes for permanent and contracted drivers, ensuring efficient day-to-day transport operations and high service standards.Job OverviewPlan and coordinate daily transport routes for both employed and self-employed driversBe able to plan prebooked collections and deliveries (35%*) but additionally fulfil last minute same day requests (65% of daily work)Optimise vehicle utilisation while ensuring compliance with transport regulationsLiaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operationsMonitor vehicle movements using tracking systems and respond to operational issuesMaintain accurate planning records and support overall transport efficiencyEnsure collections and delivery compliance relating to driver hours and tachograph regulationsSupport in booking vehicles for service / MOT and monitoring of any vehicle defects and action accordingly.Job RequirementsMinimum 3 years' experience in a similar transport planning role dealing with both employed and self employed driversManagement CPC qualification advantageous, with knowledge of driver hours, tachographs and vehicle complianceUse transport management systems related to driver apps, to schedule deliveries and collections.Experience using planning/tracking systemsFLT licence advantageous or willingness to undertake trainingSalary & Benefits£30,000 - £35,000 DOEFull-time, permanent, onsite position (Monday-Friday)Some flexibility required around shift coverage and weekend on-call support - full details will be discussedOn call weekend working required on rota basis (one weekend in every 7 / 8) to commence once probation has been completed.
