Job Description

We are recruiting a Management Accountant on behalf of a well-established, manufacturing business based in Plymouth. This is a 15-month fixed term opportunity to join a small, collaborative finance team during a period of maternity cover.This role offers a broad mix of management accounting, financial control, and operational finance responsibilities. You will work closely with the Finance & Commercial Manager and wider business functions, providing accurate financial information and analysis to support effective decision-making.Alongside core reporting responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and gaining exposure to manufacturing and supply chain operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and support month-end management accounts, including variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reporting for senior managementSupport budgeting and forecasting processesOversee credit control activities, monitoring customer accounts and revenue riskManage the fixed asset register, including capital expenditure review and depreciationCoordinate outsourced payroll (UK and overseas), ensuring compliance and resolving queriesPrepare and submit VAT returns and statutory submissionsCalculate commissions and manage invoicing aligned to commercial agreementsAct as finance lead for the online expenses systemSupport year-end statutory accounts preparation and external audit processesContribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and processesProvide ad-hoc financial analysis and cross-functional support as requiredExperienceRecognised professional accountancy qualification (or working towards completion) minimum AAT qualifiedStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)Experience within a manufacturing or product-based environment desirableExperience with ERP systems (SAP desirable but not essential)Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracySelf-motivated, organised and comfortable working to deadlinesPositive, team-oriented mindset with a proactive, continuous improvement approachIf you are looking for a new challenge and have the relevant experience, please submit an up-to-date CV by using the apply button.By applying for this position, you consent to the processing of your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the purposes of recruitment, employment, and work-finding services.JBRP1_UKTJ
