Job Title: Shift Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Bias - M&E)Location: Welwyn Garden CitySite: Prestigious Data CentreEmployer: Leading Facilities Management CompanySalary: £52,000 - £53,500 + excellent package (dependent on experience)Shift Pattern: Continental Shift - Days & Nights* 7am - 7pm* 7pm - 7amThe RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical bias) to join a well-established and highly reputable FM provider, working on a prestigious data centre in Welwyn Garden City.This is an excellent opportunity for a Level 3 qualified engineer looking for long-term stability, strong earning potential, and career progression within a company that actively promotes from within.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of a dedicated on-site engineering teamCarrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenanceManaging PPM schedules, logbooks, and statutory complianceEnsuring critical systems are maintained to a high standard in a data centre environmentPPM tasks to include (but not limited to):Emergency lightingFire alarm systemsGeneral lightingAHUs & FCUsPlant room inspectionsAssociated building services equipmentRequirementsMechanical or Electrical qualifications (Level 3 essential):NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering, or Plumbing ORCity & Guilds Level 2/3 in Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering, or PlumbingElectrical bias only:18th Edition (essential)2391 Testing & Inspection (desirable)Ideal CandidateMechanical or Electrical bias with a strong building services backgroundComfortable working in a critical environment (data centre experience advantageous)Client-facing and professional in approachWell-organised with strong compliance awarenessExperience on healthcare or critical-site contracts is beneficial but not essentialJBRP1_UKTJ
