Mobile Telemetry Engineer TamworthMonday to Friday | 07:00 17:00 | 42 hours per weekAre you an experienced 1224-volt electrical engineer or auto electrician looking for a hands-on, field-based role? Do you enjoy fault finding, working with vehicle and plant electrics, and supporting the integration of modern telemetry systems? Our Telemetry team plays a critical role in ensuring our equipment is electrically sound, fully connected, and operating efficiently. We are seeking a Mobile Telemetry Engineer based in Tamworth with strong low-voltage DC electrical experience to take ownership of installations across our assets and support our regional operations.This is a practical, electrically focused role suited to someone confident working with 12VDC and 24VDC systems, vehicle wiring looms, and engine communication networks.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, wire and commission telemetry systems into 12V and 24V DC electrical systems across plant and hire equipmentDiagnose and rectify electrical faults using wiring diagrams, multimeters and fault-finding techniquesIntegrate telemetry units with engine and control systems (including CAN bus and MOD bus networks)Carry out electrical quality inspections and ensure installations meet company and safety standardsSupport single and three-phase AC connections where requiredProduce clear technical documentation and installation guidesDeliver practical and classroom-based training to engineers on electrical best practice and telemetry systemsSupport development of Standard Operating ProceduresProvide technical support across Northern territoriesUndertake customer-facing technical support where requiredWhat We OfferCompetitive salary (happy to discuss confidentially)Overtime paid at time and a half door to door26 days holiday plus bank holidaysStructured career progression through our Career Line of SightOngoing technical training and developmentPension schemeLife assurance95% discount across the Speedy brandVoluntary Health Cash PlanMy Staff Shop retailer discountsGreen Commute Initiative (Cycle to Work scheme)PAM Employee Assistance Programme (wellbeing, legal and financial support)What Youll NeedFull UK driving licenceStrong experience working with 12VDC and 24VDC electrical systems (vehicle or plant)Proven electrical fault-finding skills and ability to read and interpret wiring diagramsExperience with vehicle electrics, battery systems, alternators, relays and control circuitsKnowledge of engine communication systems such as CAN bus and MOD busUnderstanding of single and three-phase AC systems (desirable)Confident using telemetry platforms and general IT systemsAbility to produce accurate technical reportsComfortable working independently and as part of a wider engineering teamWillingness to travel regionally with occasional overnight staysWe would particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience as:Auto Electrician, Plant Electrician, Vehicle Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Technician or Electrical Engineer.At Speedy, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
