As a Senior Building Surveyor, youll provide high level technical expertise across a diverse range of surveying activities that help protect, maintain and improve our homes.While this role does not include direct line management, you will play an important part in mentoring, guiding and supporting Building Surveyors and the team - sharing knowledge, offering technical insight and helping colleagues develop confidence and capability.If you enjoy technical challenge, problem solving and supporting others to grow, this role is an excellent fit.Based at our office in High Wycombe, Bucks the expectation is that you will attend twice a week for collaborative purposes, with some travel to sites mostly around the Buckinghamshire area. Together, were building a better future.Technical Support & MentoringProvide guidance, coaching and technical advice to Surveyors and Assistants. Supporting the Surveying Services Manager with day to day coordination and provide cover when required. Promote consistent standards, continuous learning and best practiceSurveying & DiagnosticsYou will undertake condition, compliance and specialist surveys across our housing stock. Diagnose building defects, including complex cases involving structure, fire safety, disrepair and damp & mould and produce high quality specifications, schedules of work and technical reports.Project & Contract DeliveryManagement of projects from inception to completion, including tendering and contract administration. You will oversee investment works, estate improvements and complex voids. Ensuring compliance with building regulations, planning requirements and health 'safetyWorking with StakeholdersYou will have a collaborative style when working with a wide range of colleagues across Property Services, Customer Services, Development and more. Engaging with contractors, consultants, residents, local authorities and regulatory partners. You will provide specialist input to support the delivery of new-build homes.What success looks like:High quality surveying services delivered within agreed SLAs and KPIsAccurate diagnosis of building issues with clear, detailed reportsStrong project delivery with compliant tendering and contract administrationPositive resident experience and constructive internal collaborationColleagues who feel supported, informed and confident through your mentoringWhat youll bring - must haves:HND in Building Construction or a degree in Building SurveyingProfessional qualification such as MRICS or MCIOBStrong experience diagnosing defects and delivering repairsKnowledge of JCT contracts and CDM 2015Ability to prepare specifications, tender documents and technical reportsExperience managing contractors and consultantsUnderstanding of HHSRS and other housing standardsExcellent organisational and problem solving skillsProficient with costings and value for money assessmentsFull UK driving licence and access to a vehiclePhysically able to work safely in varied site conditionsNice to haves:Experience mentoring or coaching colleaguesUnderstanding of the social housing sector or experience within a registered providerBenefitsAt SettleParadigm, we believe in creating an environment where our people feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.
