PCV/HGV Auto Electrician - Coach FleetLocation: Taunton, Somerset (on-site)Job Type: Full-Time, PermanentPay: £19.00-£22.00 per hour (DOE)A well-established South West coach operator is seeking an experienced PCV/HGV Auto Electrician to join their busy workshop team in Taunton. You'll be the go-to person for electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs, working independently on complex issues as well as alongside the workshop team to ensure the reliability of a 60-vehicle coach fleet.The RoleWorking on a modern and varied fleet of PCV/HGV vehicles, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic systems to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.Key Responsibilities:Electrical and electronic fault finding/diagnostics on PCV/HGV vehicles using diagnostic tools and test equipmentRepair and replacement of electrical components including starters, alternators, batteries/charging systems, lighting, switches, sensors, and control unitsWiring repairs including loom repairs, connectors, shorts/earth faults, and carrying out electrical installations as requiredSupporting roadside and running repairs when rostered on call-outAssisting with MOT preparation and ensuring defects are rectified promptly to a high standardEnsuring vehicles are maintained in line with Operator Licence requirements and company standardsCompleting all paperwork accurately, including job cards, service sheets, and defect reportsWorking HoursShift rotation:06:30 - 14:3008:00 - 16:3010:00 - 18:30Overtime is available after hours and at weekends depending on preference and operational need.Call-out is paid at enhanced rates, normally with a minimum of 3 hours paid, even if the job takes less time.
