Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Disrepair Manager to take ownership of legal disrepair cases within a social housing environment, working on behalf of a main contractor delivering responsive and planned maintenance services.This is a hands-on, commercially aware role with responsibility for driving disrepair cases through to resolution, ensuring works are raised, managed, completed, and evidenced correctly while maintaining strong relationships with residents and clients.You will act as the central point of coordination between residents, legal teams, internal operational teams, and the clientensuring cases are progressed efficiently, risks are controlled, and outcomes are delivered in line with contractual and legal requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesTake end-to-end ownership of legal disrepair cases from notification through to resolutionLiaise directly with residents, surveyors, solicitors, and internal teams to progress casesEnsure disrepair works are correctly scoped, raised, prioritised, and managed through to completionMonitor and manage case timelines, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and agreed programmesMaintain accurate case records, evidence packs, and audit trails suitable for legal scrutinyProactively identify risks, delays, or blockers and drive corrective actionProvide regular, clear updates to the client on case progress, performance, and emerging issuesWork closely with operational teams to ensure works are delivered right first timeSupport the reduction of legal exposure, compensation, and associated costsEnsure all activity aligns with health 'safety, safeguarding, and compliance requirementsWhat Were Looking ForProven experience managing legal disrepair cases within social housingStrong understanding of social housing repairs, maintenance processes, and complianceExperience working for a main contractor or housing providerConfident communicator with the ability to engage residents, clients, and legal stakeholdersHighly organised with strong attention to detail and case management capabilityAble to challenge constructively, prioritise effectively, and work under pressureCommercially aware, with a focus on outcomes and risk mitigationDesirableKnowledge of current housing legislation and regulatory requirementsExperience working alongside solicitors, surveyors, or expert witnessesFamiliarity with repairs management systems and performance reportingWhy Join UsWork on high-profile social housing contracts with real impact on residents homesBe trusted to lead and shape the disrepair process, not just administer itJoin a contractor that values accountability, transparency, and deliveryCompetitive salary and benefits packageJBRP1_UKTJ
