Process Safety SpecialistWest Thurrock (Site-Based)£65,000 - £75,000Pin Point Recruitment is seeking an experienced Process Safety Specialist to join a leading upper-tier COMAH chemical manufacturing operation.This is a senior-level role focused on ensuring regulatory compliance, preventing major accidents, and driving continuous improvement in process safety performance across high-hazard manufacturing sites.You will act as the technical authority for process safety, supporting engineering, operations, SHE, and regulatory teams to ensure plant integrity and risk control standards meet industry best practice.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with COMAH regulations and maintain robust process safety management systemsLead and facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies, including 5-year revalidation programmesSupport the development and review of COMAH Safety ReportsProvide specialist advice on:Pressure relief systemsSafety Instrumented Systems (SIS)ATEX/DSEAR complianceQuantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)Ensure all identified risks are reduced to ALARP principlesDevelop and manage the Management of Change (MOC) processIdentify and close gaps in process safety documentation and systemsSupport the production and monitoring of Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPIs)Assist with investigations following incidents and drive lessons learnedDeliver training and promote positive safety culture improvementsEssential RequirementsDegree in Chemical or Process Engineering (or related discipline)Chartered Engineer statusMinimum 10 years experience within chemical/process manufacturingAt least 5 years experience in a dedicated Process Safety roleExperience leading HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA studiesExperience working on Upper Tier COMAH sitesStrong understanding of Management of Change systemsExperience developing COMAH Safety ReportsPractical knowledge of Bowtie analysis and human factorsIncident investigation experienceNEBOSH Certificate or DiplomaPostgraduate qualification in Process Safety or Loss PreventionAdditional InformationSite-based roleOccasional travel to other UK manufacturing sitesFlexibility required in line with business needsIf you are an experienced Process Safety professional looking to play a key role in preventing major incidents and improving operational safety standards, we would like to hear from you.Apply now through Pin Point Recruitment.JBRP1_UKTJ
