This role is ideal for a highly skilled radio engineer who enjoys working across system design, installation, commissioning, and technical oversight for large-scale radio communication projects across the UK and Europe.You will act as a senior technical point of contact for customers, support the Project Management Office, and play a key role in delivering complex radio systems to the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & CommissioningInstall cabling, mount antennas, and configure RF equipmentProgram and test Motorola systemsCommission PMR, DMR, telemetry radio, and microwave infrastructurePreventive MaintenanceCarry out PPMs across multiple sitesComplete annual inspections and corrective actionsDocumentation & ReportingRecord test results, configuration details, and asset informationUpload reports, photos, and documentation to shared systemsCollaboration & SupportWork closely with the PMO and Technical LeadCoordinate with subcontractors for installation tasksProvide pre-sales support including surveys, system design, and specificationsDeliver post?sales support including customer trainingTechnical DutiesDiagnose and repair radio equipment from hand portables to base stationsConduct full diagnostic testing using bench and portable test equipmentPrepare H&S documentation to meet customer requirementsMaintain high technical standards and support knowledge sharing within the teamParticipate in standby rotas when requiredGeneral ResponsibilitiesEnsure all documentation is completed accurately and on timeAdhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all timesIdentify and support revenue generating opportunitiesCarry out any additional duties as required by managementKey OutcomesDeliver exceptional service to all customersEnsure smooth handover of completed installations to the service teamStrengthen the organisations reputation through high quality engineering deliveryEssential Skills & ExperienceMinimum 5 years experience in two way radio communicationsStrong knowledge of Motorola PMR, DMR, TETRA, telemetry, or microwave systemsUnderstanding of IP technologies including routing, switching, and VoIPExperience with DAS (active and passive), VHF/UHF, and cellular systemsAbility to detect and resolve RF interference and intermodulation issuesKnowledge of 2G/3G/4G in?building coverage techniquesEMF testing and ICNIRP compliance experienceProven project design and project management capabilityCompetent in producing H&S documentationAble to work at heights and in confined spacesWillingness to travel across the UK and EuropeStrong communication skills and a right?first?time approachFull UK driving licence and valid passportAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDesirableExperience with LV electrical systemsSCADA / Control & Automation knowledgeUnderstanding of TCP/IP, MODBUS, Profibus, RS232Experience with Trbonet, Windows Server, SQL ServerRF over Fibre experienceDuplexer, combiner, and filter tuningCCNA, PASMA, HNC Electrical/ElectronicsBenefits:Competitive salaryExpenses paidBonusHybridFull training and development23 days Bank HolidaysPensionMedical Cash PlanLife InsuranceDiscounted Gym MembershipCareer DevelopmentStaff events/ incentivesPlus so much more.How to Apply:Send your CV toOr call Helen on 0161 237 4230This vacancy is being handled by Aspire Recruitment.
