Truck & Van Mechanic / HGV TechnicianLocation: Poyle, ColnbrookJob Type: Full-time, PermanentHours: 50 hours per week (negotiable)Salary: £38,000 £55,000 per year (dependent on experience and hours worked)Additional Pay: Overtime & weekend work availableThe OpportunityOur client is a well-established logistics and transport specialist dedicated to delivering reliable freight, warehousing, and vehicle maintenance solutions.They are seeking a skilled and dependable Truck & Van Mechanic / HGV Technician to join their growing operation at their Poyle, Colnbrook premises. Youll be working on a mixed fleet of trucks and vans, using company-supplied tools, diagnostics, and equipment, with steady work, strong earning potential, and long-term job security.This is an ideal role for a technician who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and wants consistent hours with the opportunity to boost earnings through overtime.What Youll Be DoingCarrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and vansUsing company-provided diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and resolve faultsCompleting vehicle inspections and defect reporting in line with DVSA standardsPreparing vehicles for MOT and ensuring ongoing roadworthiness and complianceTyre inspections, repairs, and replacementsManaging and planning maintenance schedules to minimise vehicle downtimePerforming rolling road brake testing using the companys mobile brake testerMaintaining accurate job records and documentationWorking safely and in compliance with all health 'safety proceduresWhat Were Looking ForProven experience as a Truck, HGV, or Van MechanicStrong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilitySolid understanding of MOT preparation and DVSA regulationsAbility to work independently while contributing effectively to a teamFlexibility to work overtime and weekends when requiredFull UK driving licenceDesirable (But Not Essential)NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent mechanical qualificationHGV licenceExperience with mobile brake testing equipmentBackground working with mixed vehicle fleetsWhat Youll GetEnhanced overtime(time-and-a-half and weekend premiums), meaning many techs consistently earn £55k+Overtime and weekend work availableCompany tools and diagnostic equipment providedStable, long-term, permanent employmentVaried workload across a mixed fleetSupportive team environment with professional standardsWhats next?
