Role DetailsRole/Job Title: PVIT EngineerWork Location: UK, GaydonMode of Working: Office based (5 days a week)The RoleThis role sits within the Propulsion BEV Domain supporting vehicle testing activity across all our new Battery Electric Vehicle Platforms. It focusses on supporting the continual running of our prototype vehicle test fleet at a really exciting time in our development process. The team will carry out first level analysis on powertrain issues raised by vehicle owners for the powertrain and charging systems and ensure that the right teams are engaged in resolving issues and all learning is captured.Main Functions / Key Performance IndicatorCarry out first level of analysis on issues raised by vehicle owners through log takingEnsure quality data is collected with a clear problem descriptionEngage relevant teams in problem solvingSupport vehicle updates and prove out of issue resolution (e.g. flashing of software)Functional Teams to ConnectPowertrain BEV DomainBEV Powerpack Test TeamPropulsion Software TeamTest Operations Team (EO)Vehicle Engineering TeamYour ResponsibilitiesLead triage of powertrain & charging system issues identified on prototype vehiclesEnsure quality data is captured and problem definition described and loggedLead issue resolution, where appropriate, to keep fleet runningAssist in identifying appropriate ERA, ICA & PCA'sLiaise with testing teams to replicate issues on test rigs / vehicles.Capture lessons learnt and ensure updates enacted on, as appropriate, across the vehicle fleetManage relationships with key stakeholders, developing positive relationships and ensuring that information is shared from and to the domain as appropriate.Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requestedYour ProfileEssential Skills / Knowledge / ExperienceEagerness to resolve issues at vehicle level.Understanding of the architecture and function of a BEV propulsion systemTechnical Expertise and experience of testing a high voltage component or systemData analysis and reporting of test data (using INCA or equivalent)Natural problem solver with a structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment.The ability to validate, prepare and read engineering documentsTo be inquisitive The ability to evaluate and appropriately challenge existing ideas, processes and ways of working to optimise how we work as a teamA full UK driving licenseThe ability to travel freely between JLR's engineering sites and test partners (with opportunity for overseas travel)Desirable Skills / Knowledge / ExperienceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills.EssentialDegree qualified or equivalent experience preferred.Demonstrates our Creators' Code behaviours of Customer Love, Unity, Integrity, Growth and Impact.
