The successful individual will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards, delivering high-quality fire door inspections and reporting in line with recognised industry frameworks, including BM TRADA.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out comprehensive fire door inspections across commercial and residential premisesAssess fire door components, including door leaves, frames, seals, ironmongery, and associated hardware, to ensure regulatory complianceConfirm fire doors are correctly installed, unobstructed, and fully operationalTest fire doors for correct closing, latching, and overall functionality within required tolerancesIdentify, document, and report any defects, non-compliance issues, or potential fire safety risksProduce clear, accurate, and detailed inspection reports suitable for both technical and non-technical audiencesProvide recommendations for remedial actions, including repair, maintenance, adjustment, or replacement of fire doorsMaintain accurate and up-to-date inspection recordsOffer professional guidance to clients and responsible persons regarding fire door compliance, maintenance, and upgradesRemain up to date with current legislation, standards, and best practice through ongoing CPDAdditional ResponsibilitiesUndertake other reasonable duties as required to meet operational needsWork independently or collaboratively as part of a wider team to deliver a high standard of serviceCommunicate professionally and proactively with clients and internal stakeholders while on siteRequirementsRelevant qualifications to carry out fire door inspections and site-based worksStrong, up-to-date knowledge of fire door regulations and industry standardsAbility to produce well-written, technically accurate inspection reportsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProfessional, presentable, and courteous approach at all timesWillingness to work away from home when requiredFull UK driving licence (essential)Valid CSCS card (essential)Location & TravelOffice base in EssexRole involves regular travel across London and the M25, with occasional travel elsewhere in the UKThis opportunity offers the chance to join a professional and supportive organisation, providing long-term career development within a growing and well-structured team.JBRP1_UKTJ
