As a fast growing company we have recently expanded our operations with the launch of a European company and distribution centre and new UK workshop facilities.We run a fleet of highly modified road, track and race cars to assist with marketing and product development. These include a Nissan Skyline running a 6.7 Litre V8 with sequential box, a number of Clubsport E92 M3s, multiple Citroen C1 endurance racers, modified M2, GT4 RS, Fiesta race cars, E46 competition spec drift cars etc. Recent expansion to our workshop and track activities means we are looking for a skilled and experienced Race Mechanic. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles including modified road, track and race cars. This includes transporting and supporting track and race cars at various UK and European circuits. You will only be dealing with company vehicles, not retail.We are expanding our workshop department and equipping it with the latest equipment including a dedicated damper development and dyno suite.You would be working with an enthusiastic and growing team of petrolheads and the role will be varied and always interesting with plenty of opportunities to travel the UK and Europe and be involved with a wide range of activities over and above the day to day car prep and maintanance. We recently hired Blyton Park and Donington Park for private use for example and attend shows all over the Uk and Europe. One day you might be drifting in Ireland, the next supporting our race cars at Brands Hatch, the next flying out to Europes biggest show in Poland.ResponsibilitiesMaintain work vehicles/ trailers/company road and race cars.Help modify/build performance carsDiagnose faults and perform repairs using appropriate tools and techniquesUtilise hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs and adjustmentsMaintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs undertakenCollaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical issuesEnsure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policiesAssist with the development of new coilover kits.Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe at all timesYou will provide race support at track days and race events.Prep cars prior to eventsLoad cars on to trailerLoad vans with event equipmentDrive/tow vehicles to eventsSet up garages at eventRun cars at eventsPack up at the end of an eventTransport vehicles back to unit and unload everythingPost event checks /maintenance and repair of vehiclesQualificationsProven experience as a race mechanic or in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical knowledge and understanding of various machinery systemsProficiency in using hand tools and power tools effectivelyAbility to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematicsExcellent problem-solving skills with attention to detailGood organisational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a teamRelevant certifications or qualifications in mechanical engineering or maintenance are desirable but not essentialExperience of highly modified cars is desired.Race car experience is desirableExperience of working with drivers/ instructors desirableTowing experience desired but not essential as training can be given.Must be over 25 and have a clean licenceYou will be required to work weekends.This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their mechanical expertise in a dynamic setting.
