You make sure the Registered Manager is supported, challenged, and operating effectively.In simple terms: you carry the legal and regulatory weight.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic OversightEnsure the home operates in line with its Statement of PurposeMonitor performance, safeguarding, staffing, and outcomes for childrenProvide effective oversight of the Registered ManagerEnsure financial sustainability and operational stabilityRegulatory ComplianceEnsure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality StandardsMonitor Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 reportsOversee action plans following inspectionsNotify Ofsted of significant events as requiredSafeguarding & RiskMaintain robust safeguarding systemsOversee serious incident managementEnsure allegations are handled appropriately and in line with proceduresEscalate concerns where necessaryQuality Assurance & GovernanceConduct regular monitoring visitsReview care quality, outcomes, and improvement plansEnsure policies and procedures are up to dateDrive continuous improvement across the serviceLeadership & AccountabilitySupport and challenge the Registered ManagerEnsure staffing structures are safe and effectivePromote a culture of high expectations and child-centred practiceExternal RelationshipsAct as a key point of contact for OfstedLiaise with placing authorities and external professionalsRepresent the organisation professionally and confidentlyEssential RequirementsSignificant experience xjdpvnf in childrens residential careStrong understanding of Childrens Homes Regulations 2015Experience in leadership, governance, or senior managementIn-depth knowledge of safeguardingAbility to analyse reports and drive improvementStrong integrity and professional judgementDesirableLevel 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential ChildcareExperience as a Registered Manager or senior leader in Ofsted-regulated provisionPersonal AttributesYou must be:DecisiveCalm under scrutinyEthically groundedDetail-orientedComfortable being accountable
