Job Title: Training Manager - Corrugator Experience EssentialLocation: Scunthorpe, South HumbersideSalary: £45,000 per annumHours: Monday to Friday (9-5) with occasional Saturdays; flexibility requiredAbout the RoleA leading corrugated board manufacturing business in Scunthorpe is seeking an experienced Training Manager to develop and deliver effective training programmes across its manufacturing operations. This role ensures employees are competent, compliant, and capable of meeting high performance, safety, and quality standards.Practical corrugator experience is essential, as the role will provide hands-on training and support to corrugator teams, while also managing wider site training and development activities.Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Strategy & DeliveryDevelop and implement site-wide training and competency frameworksDesign onboarding, role-specific, and refresher training programmesDeliver classroom-based, on-the-job, and practical trainingSupport managers and supervisors in coaching and people developmentCorrugator Training & SupportProvide technical training to corrugator operators, setters, and supervisorsIdentify skill gaps impacting safety, quality, waste, or machine performanceSupport training during new product introductions, process changes, and machine upgradesPromote best-practice corrugator operation and adherence to SOPsCompliance, Safety & QualityEnsure all training aligns with UK Health & Safety legislation and site proceduresSupport compliance with quality systems and customer standardsEmbed a strong safety-first culture throughout training activitiesContinuous ImprovementEvaluate training effectiveness using performance data and feedbackWork with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and HR teams to drive capability improvementSkills & Experience RequiredEssentialProven experience in training, learning & development, or people development within manufacturingPractical working knowledge of corrugator operations (operator, supervisor, or technical exposure)Strong communication, coaching, and facilitation skillsAbility to build credibility and engage effectively with shop-floor teamsThis role is ideal for a hands-on training professional who is passionate about developing people, improving operational capability, and embedding safety and quality across a busy manufacturing environment.Barker Ross Group values diversity and promotes equality.
