Job Title: Test & Design EngineerSalary: £45,000 per annumLocation: TelfordFull-Time | PermanentAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Test & Design Engineer to support our Lab Manager in ensuring product approvals remain current and fully compliant with the latest national and international standards.This role involves managing third-party product data, liaising with global suppliers, and ensuring all technical documentation is accurate and ready for market. A strong understanding of product design and compliance requirements is essential to identify and resolve issues during the investigation and development stages.Your work will directly contribute to increasing market share and business returns through the cost-effective and timely development of innovative, compliant products.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate comprehensive product risk assessmentsDevelop and implement test plans aligned with relevant standards and legislationMaintain internal design and test verification methods in line with the latest approval standardsReview and interpret third-party test reports to identify product coverage and outstanding data requirementsMaintain product databases and supporting documentationCreate technical files in accordance with product legislationLiaise with global suppliers to obtain required technical informationDevelop technical presentations and applied samples for sales support and customer demonstrationsDesign packaging and Bills of Materials (BOMs)Create and maintain technical drawings for both third-party and in-house productsConduct sample inspection and testing to verify products meet expectationsCreate and maintain data/energy labels, product codes, packaging materials, and instruction manualsDefine and maintain spares listsEssential RequirementsProven experience (minimum 3 years) in an engineering role within a manufacturing environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagramsStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlinesExperience working in a fast-paced environment with high product variants and short lead timesPractical, hands-on engineering knowledgeWillingness to travel to two additional company sites as requiredA degree is desirable but not essential - relevant experience will be considered.Desirable Skills & ExperienceUp-to-date knowledge of legislative and compliance changesPrevious product testing experienceExperience within appliance, foodservice equipment, or mechanical product designWhat We OfferCompetitive salary of £45,000 per annumEarly finish every FridayTravel to two additional sites as required (fuel costs covered)Opportunity to work on innovative, market-leading productsSupportive and collaborative working environmentCareer development opportunities within a growing organisationIf you are a proactive and detail-oriented engineer with strong compliance knowledge and a passion for product development, we would love to hear from you.JBRP1_UKTJ
