PlannerA regional house builder have a requirement for a Planner to join their Technical and Planning team to ensure the delivery of fully implementable planning consents to meet business targets.Reporting to the Planning Director you will carry out planning and development appraisals, prepare and submit planning and other related applications within the residential sector for both immediate and strategic sites.Duties and responsibilities to include:Advising upon planning policy requirements which influence projectsAdvising upon local plan statuses within region and strategic policies influencing housingAdvising upon what planning approvals are required to ensure site starts are achievedAdvising upon validation requirements for planning application submissionsHave a working knowledge of the contractual obligations concerning planning submissions and the communication of planning documentationAttend planning committees and represent the business as requiredProvide input into viabilities concerning affordable housing requirements, commuted sum payments, obligations and CILNetwork and build relationships with Council planning officers, local politicians and members of the public engaged in the planning processAssist the Planning Director on any public consultation arrangementsComply with and uphold company policies and proceduresUndertake any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to timeEnsure that all planning conditions are discharged in a timely manner in line with business plan requirementsCo-ordinate the preparation and submission of planning applications, working closely with the Planning Manager and wider teamAssist with formulating and implementing planning strategies for each developmentSkills & Experience required:RTPI-accredited town planning or relevant built environment degree2 years of planning experience related to housing within housebuilding, consultancy, land promoter or local authorityFull UK driving licence and willingness to travelUnderstanding of the planning policy requirements that influence major housing developmentsUnderstanding the process and timescales associated with securing planning permission for major housing developmentsExperience of supporting or coordinating the preparation of residential planning applications and Local Plan representationsExperience in undertaking planning appraisals of potential development sitesWhat's on offer?The company are offering a competitive salary (dependant on experience), option of a company car or car allowance, fuel card, (electric cars available), 10% bonus, enhanced pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, etc. The company are also on a growth plan and will have opportunities for career development.If you are ready for your next challenge and would like to apply for the Planner role, please contact Deena at Fawkes & Reece for a confidential chat or apply via the linkJBRP1_UKTJ
