The role will initially be based on a large critical infrastructure scheme in New Bridge near Eastbourne, with the programme expected to run for approximately 18 months, commencing in early 2026. The project scope includes highway and bridge construction works.The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of the project, working closely with delivery teams and supporting the development of junior staff.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team membersMaximising profitability across contractsMonitoring contract costs against approved budgetsIdentifying commercial and contractual risks and implementing control measuresPreparing cost estimates and forecastsProcuring subcontractors, including preparation of subcontract documentationAssessing and certifying interim and final subcontractor paymentsPreparing, submitting and agreeing main contract variationsAssisting with the preparation of documentation for dispute resolution, including adjudication and arbitrationEnsuring all works comply with quality, safety and environmental policies and company proceduresAbout YouOur client is looking for an ambitious and commercially astute individual who brings:Strong communication skills and a flexible, confident approachInnovative problem-solving ability and the confidence to negotiate at all levelsExcellent numeracy and IT skills to manage the financial demands of the roleProven experience working on civil engineering projects with a main contractorPrevious experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor under the NEC form of contractTravel & LicenceThis is a regional role, therefore candidates must be willing to travel and hold a full UK driving licence.Whats On OfferOur client offers a highly competitive package, including:Life assurance (4 annual salary)Hybrid workingCompany car or car allowanceCompany pension scheme with contributions matched up to 8%The Great Escape finish work 2 hours early every Friday25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (with the option to purchase additional leave)Extensive training and development programmesCycle-to-work schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeEmployee benefits platformFree on-site parkingCompany social events, fun days and charity initiativesA genuinely supportive business that is committed to long-term career progressionJBRP1_UKTJ
