UK Business Development ManagerGlass & Rigid Plastic PackagingEngland basedAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced UK Business Development Manager to join a well-established, £26m turnover packaging business operating as both a manufacturer and stockist of glass and rigid plastic packaging solutions.This is a balanced commercial role combining 60% new business development with 40% account management, ideal for a driven sales professional who enjoys winning new accounts while nurturing and growing established relationships.The company has a particularly strong footprint within the food and spirits sectors, but the successful candidate will have the autonomy to target opportunities across multiple markets within their UK territory.The RoleOperating across the UK, you will:Drive new business growth across glass and rigid plastic packagingManage and develop an established portfolio of accountsTarget manufacturers and brand owners across food, spirits, and wider FMCG marketsSell a broad range of packaging solutions including:Glass bottles & jarsRigid plastic containersClosures & associated componentsWith in-house manufacturing capability combined with a strong stockholding model, the business offers customers flexibility, short lead times, and scalable supply solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver a structured 60/40 split between new business and account developmentIdentify and secure new packaging opportunities across the UKGrow existing accounts through cross-selling and solution-based sellingDevelop relationships with procurement, operations, NPD and senior leadership teamsPosition both stock and bespoke manufacturing solutionsConduct market analysis to identify growth sectorsPrepare and present commercial proposals and supply agreementsRepresent the company at industry events and customer meetingsMaintain accurate pipeline reporting via CRMAbout YouProven experience selling glass and/or rigid plastic packagingBackground within a stockist, manufacturer, or hybrid packaging supplierDemonstrated success in winning new businessStrong commercial negotiation skillsSelf-motivated and comfortable working autonomouslyAble to operate across a UK territory (England-based)Full UK driving licenceMust have glass packaging experience or rigid plastic packaging experienceThe Business£26m turnover, financially robust and well-establishedCombination of manufacturing capability and stock supply modelStrong market presence within food and spiritsAgile, customer-focused culture with strong internal supportPackageBase salary up to £70,000 (depending on experience)Attractive bonus structureCompany carPension 'standard benefits packageGenuine long-term career opportunityIf you are a commercially driven packaging sales professional looking to join a stable, growth-focused business with strong sector credibility, this is a superb opportunity to make a tangible impact.Apply or message for a confidential discussion.
