With a long history of technical expertise and consistent investment in innovation, the business plays a critical role in supporting a range of advanced sectors, both in the UK and internationally.This heavy engineering company is embarking on a large-scale growth & transformation journey, with considerable investment from its parent company. As the company continues to grow and evolve, it is looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Shift Manager to join their team at their Ellesmere Port site.Working on a rotating weekly shift pattern of 6am – 2pm one week, and then 2 – 10pm, Monday to Friday, you will lead production operations within this specialised manufacturing facility.The successful candidate will oversee shift teams, drive safe, efficient, and high quality output while consistently support the team to achieve performance and production targets.This will give you the opportunity to contribute to products and technologies that have far-reaching impact across multiple industries.How you'll add value:Lead, supervise, and motivate production teams during assigned shiftsEnsure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulationsMonitor production processes to achieve output, quality, and cost targetsCoordinate with maintenance and technical teams to minimize downtimeManage staffing levels, shift handovers, and daily production reportingIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiativesEnforce company policies, procedures, and quality standardsAddress operational issues promptly and effectivelyAbout you:Proven experience in a metal making, steel, foundry, or heavy manufacturing environmentDemonstrable supervisory or shift management experienceStrong knowledge of health 'safety practices in an industrial settingAbility to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-temperature production environmentGood problem-solving and decision-making skillsStrong communication and organisational abilitiesWillingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends if requiredWhat you can expect:Competitive salaryGenerous Pension,Dental and medical insuranceHoliday allowanceLong service bonus
