Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and forward‐thinking Consultant Stroke Physician to join their friendly and high‐performing stroke team.You will become part of a well‐established service of 8 Consultant Stroke Physicians and 4 Specialist Doctors, working together to deliver high‐quality, patient‐centred stroke care across Somerset.If you're passionate about improving stroke services, value teamwork, and want to work within a supportive and progressive environment, we'd love to hear from you.Main Duties of the RoleAs a Consultant Stroke Physician, you will play a key role in delivering excellent hyperacute, acute, and rehabilitation stroke care. Your responsibilities will include:Leading daily ward rounds on the Hyperacute Stroke UnitSupporting 24/7 thrombolysis and collaborating with the AGWS telemedicine networkRunning 7‐day rapid access TIA clinics (based at Musgrove Park Hospital)Caring for stroke patients at Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District HospitalContributing to stroke rehabilitation and Early Supported Discharge pathwaysProviding clinical supervision and teaching to junior doctors and medical studentsParticipating in the 1 in 8 weekend HASU on‐call rotaAbout the TrustSomerset NHS Foundation Trust is the first fully integrated provider of acute, community, mental health, and primary care services in the country.
