Learning Support Mentor -Sport and Uniformed Public ServicesSalary: £21,355 per annum (actual salary, Term Time only)Hours: 37.5 hours a weekLocation: On-site / campus-basedDescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Mentor to join a supportive and welcoming further education setting in Cambridge. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion and supporting SEND students reach their full potential.You will work closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of learning environments, helping students to access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop greater independence.Key DutiesSupport students with learning additional learning needs both in and out of the classroomWork collaboratively with lecturers, assessors, and the wider support teamAssist students with notetaking, reading, written work, and use of assistive technologyAdapt learning materials to ensure accessibility, such as modifying language or enlarging textPromote independence and encourage students to take ownership of their learningSupport students during breaks, lunchtimes, trips, and off-site learning activities when requiredMaintain accurate records of support provided, attendance, and progressContribute to team meetings and ongoing improvements to learning support provisionSupport therapy-based interventions such as speech and language or physiotherapy, following professional guidanceAttend review meetings with parents or external professionals when requestedKey Skills and Experience RequiredExperience supporting young people with SENDA caring, patient, and professional approachStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiativeGood organisational skills and attention to detailCommitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and student wellbeingWillingness to undertake training and professional developmentAdditional InformationThis role is permanent and term time only.
