You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety at all times. Your responsibilities will include:Leading, supervising, and developing a small workshop team (23 fabricators)Managing workshop operations, equipment, workflow, and job allocationActing as the technical lead for fabrication and welding standardsWorking closely with the line manager to plan workloads and meet project deadlinesCutting, prepping, drilling, and MIG welding mild steel to a high standardOverseeing fabrication processes and ensuring procedures are followed consistentlyProducing precise, high-quality steelwork from detailed drawingsMaintaining and enforcing excellent health and safety practicesOccasionally attending sites when required for installations and on-site weldingSupporting continuous improvement across workshop systems and processesAbout YouWere looking for a senior-level professional who brings both technical ability and leadership capability. You should have:Proven experience supervising or managing a steel fabrication workshopStrong leadership, communication, and team-development skillsExpert knowledge of MIG welding processes, weld symbols, and applicationsA recognised MIG welding qualification (current or expired)Ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings with accuracyExperience producing high-precision structural steelworkUnderstanding of CNC equipment (beneficial but not essential)Excellent planning, organisation, and time-management skillsA proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilityAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple prioritiesForklift driving experience and confidence loading vehiclesYour own transportReferences available on requestIf youre a seasoned fabricator with the leadership skills to run a workshop and the technical expertise to deliver exceptional steelwork, wed love to hear from you.Apply now for immediate consideration.We are an equal opportunities employer.
