Job TitleCNC Turning / Sliding Head & Mill Turn Programmer / Setter / OperatorJob SummaryThe CNC Turning / Sliding Head & Mill TurnProgrammer/Setter/Operatorwill be able to demonstrate a positive attitude towards the continuous improvement of their own work and that of a highly skilled team. Also, to demonstrate initiative, be flexible, and able to work well under pressure.At this time the role is to be on day shift and be potentially to cover a varied shift ona alternating weekly basis across varied turning principles.We are also looking for applicants who are willing to further their and the companies skillset towards itsmachining and programming capabilities.Machinery:STARSV-32- Sliding Head (x3)STAR SJ-20 - Sliding HeadHAAS DS-30Y - Slant BedHAAS ST-20Y - Slant BedHAAS SL-20 - Slant Bed (x2)Duties and ResponsibilitiesThese will include the following listed below and other duties may be assigned depending on the needs of the business.Multi-task on sliding-head and slant-bed turning with live tooling capabilities.Ability to read detailed engineering drawingsCreate CNC programmes from engineering drawingsProduce machined components to tight tolerancesInspect own work; Comprehensive use of measuring equipment (Verniers, Micrometres, Gauges, Shadow graphs etc.)Have the ability to work unsupervised in line with designated deadlines/production schedule and problem solvingHave the ability to consistently maintain high levels of quality and adherence to work processesGood housekeeping in the area of operation; Take the opportunity to demonstrate, and be rewarded for, high standards, in a modern, clean environment using well maintained machinesShow clear drive to promote the maximisation of production output and the common goal to promote full section machine utilisation and effective flow of work in and out of section, while minimising machine downtimeOwn responsibility for following good manufacturing practice and health 'safety protocolsAdhere to requirements of the Companys policy and quality assurance protocolWork within a team whilst having accountability for your own quality and outputWork in a team, assisting your colleagues and contributing to a company goal of being the best in the businessDevelop your skills on a supportive shop floor committed to continuous improvementGeneral GuidelinesHave a helpful attitude towards all personnel, fostering good working relationshipsGive specific attention to detail to those on their section and other sections as required by managementGood time keepingMaintain good working practisesUphold Company policies including but not exhaustive of, eating and drinking policy, mobile phones and IT equipment policiesMaintain responsibility for own safety, implementing Health and Safety policy, which is relevant to their sectionMonitoring of equipment within section and identifying maintenance requirements and notifying managementFlexibility is key in this new role. We are looking for someone to cover possible afternoon and night shift patterns.
