Job PurposeWe are looking for experienced shunter driver to assist with the transporting of finished goods across our multiple production sites in Corby. The ideal candidate must have a class 1 license and have some experience in operating a Terberg and have a minimum of 2 years experience driving a HGV.Job SummaryAs a shunter, you will be responsible for transporting materials between our 4 sites including raw materials & finished goods as well as moving trailers/vehicles on & off bays along with some warehouse/operational duties when required. This role requires strong communication skills and being able to prioritise key tasks in a timely manner. Being a safety-first organisation, youll need to conduct daily yard checks and checks of the vehicles reporting any defects to the transport office. Youll also need to ensure all movements are loaded securely in line with DVSA regulations. You will play a vital role in maintaining the organisations reputation for reliability and professionalism. Join our team to contribute to our distribution success in a fast-paced environment.Essential duties and responsibilitiesInclude the following:Double deck / single deck trailer movements of raw materials and finished goods between our sites to keep up with production / despatch demandsMovements on / off loading bays for loading / unloadingLocal collections and deliveries of raw materials, finished goods and vehicles for maintenance bookingsOrganising the yard and conducting daily checksUndertaking daily pre & post inspections of your Terberg in line with DVSA requirementsPerforming basic repairs and maintenance and prompt defect reporting to ensure vehicle roadworthiness is upheldSafely securing vehicle loads before any movementsLiaising with all departments and the transport office regarding ETAs and movement updatesComplying with all vehicle compliance and health & safety engagementproceduresOccasional warehouse duties/operational duties including loading, refuelling and cleaning when movements all up to date.Job DetailsThis role will be an average of 45 hours per week on a three-week shift pattern, but flexibility is required to cover annual leave on any of the below shifts as and when needed.Week 1 - 6am 3pm (Mon-Fri)Week 2 - 1pm 10pm (Mon-Fri)Week 3 - 10pm 7am (Sun-Thurs)Additional Benefits33 days holiday including bank holidays (25 days basic entitlement)Sick payCompany PensionFree CPC training annuallyKey RequirementsMinimum two years class 1 HGV driving experience with less than 6 penalty pointsValid driving license, digicard and CPC card (preferably up to date with training hours during current 5-year cycle)Terberg ExperiencePhysically fitStrong communication skillsTeam playerSafety first mindsetProfessional attitudeMust have valid right to work in UKSalary£39,286 basic with overtime available.JBRP1_UKTJ
