This role involves managing projects from initial concept through design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and final handover.You will act as the primary interface between clients and internal delivery teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.Project Manager - The Role:Lead end-to-end delivery of industrial automation and robotics projects, including robotic cells, automated assembly lines, vision-guided systems, conveyors, PLC/SCADA-controlled solutions, and custom machineryDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers using recognised project management toolsAct as the main point of contact for customers, providing clear communication on progress, risks, changes, and expectationsCoordinate internal teams across engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement, software, and controls, as well as managing external suppliers and subcontractorsOversee site installation, commissioning, testing, operator training, and final handover to the customerDrive continuous improvement through lessons learned and enhancement of project delivery processesSupport pre-sales activities when required, including scope definition, estimating, and risk assessmentProject Manager - The Person:Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or a related disciplineMinimum 5 years' experience managing projects within industrial automation, robotics integration, special-purpose machinery, or complex manufacturing environmentsProven track record of delivering complex, high-value automation or robotics projects (turnkey systems preferred)Strong technical understanding of industrial automation technologies, to include industrial robots, PLC platforms, vision systems, conveyors, safety systems and control architecturesExperience with recognised project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or hybrid approaches – certification advantageous)Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (typically up to 30–40% depending on project phase)Located in Staffordshire, this role would be commutable from Lichfield, Coleshill, Tamworth, Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall, Redditch, Atherstone and surrounding.Looking for a job involved with automation, control systems, process control or systems integration?
