In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primarycare. Our Team You’ll be joining a skilled, multidisciplinary group including:Salaried GPsAdvanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs)Practice NursesClinical Pharmacists Job responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities In accordance with the agreed job plan, the salaried GP will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including: Surgery consultations, telephone consultations, telephone triage, visiting patients, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, processing clinical documentation, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Participate in the duty doctor rota Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate Developing care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICE Ensuring appropriate follow up of patients Recording clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standards Prescribing generically whenever appropriately and in accordance with the ICB and Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance) Comply with all the objectives of the QOF targets, ICB initiatives, nationally or locally commissioned enhanced services. Completion of reports for solicitors, insurance companies and other third parties Working with and supporting other members of the primary health care team in delivering high quality primary care Take an active role in delivering clinical governance Promote preventative health care and advice where appropriate Lead on training, supervising and supporting learners (e.g Medical students) Other responsibilities within the Practice Work in accordance with NCPC agreed clinical procedures and protocols. Commitment and contribution to achievement of the highest possible quality standards in clinical care. A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice. Contribute to evaluation, audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation Attend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate. This includes clinical and non‑clinical training and events. Participate in practice clinical meetings Provide information when reasonably requested to ensure that all personnel and other records are accurate e.g. hepatitis status Participate in the GP revalidation and appraisal scheme.
