Job summary We are excited to be able offer a salaried GP vacancy to join our team under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). This is a great opportunity for a GP who is newly qualified. The post-holder must be within 2 years of completing their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). We can offer 4-6 sessions per week and it is initially a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027 with potential for extension and a possibility of a permanent post thereafter. We are offering £10,500 per session and will enrol you in the NHS Pension scheme. To be eligible you must be a newly qualified GP and have qualified within the last 2 years. Note: the post may be closed early if a suitable candidate is found. Main duties of the job Core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. In accordance with the practice rota, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries. Carrying out home visits for our house‑bound patients, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, reviewing clinical documentation and dealing with queries. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance. Effective management of long‑term conditions. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance. Work collaboratively, accepting a fair share of the practice workload. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process. About us We are a friendly GMS training practice in the Beeston area of Leeds, operating from two sites with a patient population over 19,000. 10 GP Partners and 1 Salaried GP. Strong nursing team including nurse practitioner, ACP (paramedic) and practice matron. Training both registrars and FY2s. SystmOne. Full range of enhanced services delivered. Member of the South and East GP Federation (SELGP). The practice is a proactive member of Beeston and Hunslet & Middleton PCNs. We are a democratic and supportive team. Diagnosis & Treatment: Make accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans, including prescribing medications and offering lifestyle advice; ensure follow‑up care for ongoing medical conditions and post‑treatment monitoring. Care Planning: Create and maintain personalised care plans for patients with chronic conditions or long‑term illnesses; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the patient receives comprehensive care. Health Promotion: Educate patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and the management of medical conditions; promote immunisations, screenings, and other preventive services in line with public health initiatives. Documentation & Record Keeping: Accurately document patient consultations, treatments and outcomes in electronic health records; maintain up‑to‑date patient records in compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Collaboration: Work alongside other healthcare professionals (nurses, physiotherapists, specialists, etc.) in delivering patient care; participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies. Clinical Leadership & Development: Stay informed of current medical best practices and guidelines; participate in professional development opportunities, including continued medical education (CME) and training. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, legal requirements and ethical standards; adhere to safeguarding policies and patient confidentiality guidelines. Administration & Meetings: Complete necessary administrative tasks, including referral letters and reports; attend and contribute to practice meetings, patient reviews and audits as required.
