Band 6 Theatre Practitioner Our Trauma Orthopaedic and Plastic Theatres Team has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Theatre Practitioner. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and dynamic individual with extensive Orthopaedic Scrub experience and willingness be to become dual trained Anaesthetic practitioner. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills to support the team in achieving high standards of patient care within theatres. Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary focus of the post is to ensure that the Trust provides high quality patient centred care. The practitioner will act as an advocate for patients. The practitioner will provide clinical leadership for a specified theatre / specialist area and deputise in the absence of the band 7 Clinical Lead. The practitioner will be required to weekends as service dedicates. The practitioner will become proficient in rostering and absence management. You will carry out a wide range of theatre duties at the direction of senior staff. You will be responsible for their own professional conduct in line with NMC/HPC Code of Conduct. They will adhere to and understand all Trust & local policies and procedures. Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills. Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing surgery. Maintain health, safety, and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures. Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies. Prepare, monitor, and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty. Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures. Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies. Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
