With over 25 years of industry excellence, this organisation delivers safe, reliable and innovative street lighting and highway electrical solutions that keep communities across the UK moving.This is a senior, visible leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, influence decision-making at the highest level, and embed best-in-class SHE standards across a geographically dispersed workforce.The RoleWorking closely with the Highway Electrical Senior Leadership Team, you'll provide strategic direction, operational assurance and professional expertise across Safety, Health and Environment.Key areas of focus include:Strategic LeadershipLead and deliver the SHE strategy aligned to business objectivesAct as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on all SHE mattersLead, coach and develop a team of SHE Advisors and AdministratorsOwn and maintain the Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and industry standardsOversee operational risk management, major accident hazard controls and safety-by-design principlesIncident & Risk ManagementProvide leadership during serious incidents, investigations and learning reviewsEmbed robust close-call and incident reporting systemsDrive targeted risk-reduction programmes (e.g. service strikes, working at height, fleet risk)Health, Wellbeing & EnvironmentLead occupational health and wellbeing initiatives, including HAVS, mental health and fitness for workEnsure environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and risk controls are embedded across operationsStakeholder & Client EngagementRepresent the business at senior client forums, regulatory meetings and industry groupsBuild strong, credible relationships with operational leaders, trade unions, regulators and assurance partnersWhat You'll BringProven senior SHE leadership experience within construction, utilities, highways or infrastructureAbility to influence at executive level and constructively challenge operational teamsNEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and Chartered status (CMIOSH or working towards)Experience working in high-risk environments (highway electrical, power, telecoms or similar)Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, ISO standards and major hazard frameworksExperience implementing and embedding digital SHE systems and assurance platformsIf you don't tick every box – apply anyway.
