The client are a deep level AWS specialist and are hiring for a highly skilled and experienced Principal AWS Platform Engineer.About the RoleThis role suits a senior consultant with a background in engineering. You will be shaping cloud strategy, setting engineering and security standards and will remain hands on with complex AWS infrastructure.The role is not for an Architect, however you will be experienced and take a keen interest in designing AWS platforms that are highly secure. You will design and implement platforms that are automated, built to scale and deliver cloud services across key government services.ResponsibilitiesYou will take ownership of AWS platform design and continuous improvement, working across multi-account environments and enterprise-scale architectures.Define AWS platform architecture usingmodern Landing Zone patternsImplement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDKEmbed security into cloud platforms through native AWS servicesEnable automated delivery through well-designed CI/CD pipelinesDesign and support secure networking, IAM, KMS, and container-based workloads (EKS/ECS)Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and promoting best practicesDesired ExperienceTo be successful in this position, you must have a very strong background in AWS platform engineering including:Extensive experience building and operating AWS environments at scaleProven expertise with Control Tower and multi-account strategiesDeep understanding of AWS securityStrong Infrastructure as Code and automation experienceProgramming skills in Python, Java or similar languagesExperience with Kubernetes/EKSThis is a great role with a growing client.
