Freelance Tunnelling Geotechnical Engineer – 6‐Month ContractWest Yorkshire6‐Month Contract (Potential Extension)Freelance / Outside IR35 (subject to assessment)Start: ASAPWe're currently supporting a leading engineering contractor in their search for an experienced Tunnelling Geotechnical Engineer to join their team on a 6‐month freelance basis in West Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure programme and play a key role in technical delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide geotechnical and tunnelling engineering expertise across design and site phasesReview and interpret ground investigation data and assessmentsSupport the design of temporary and permanent worksOffer technical input during construction, problem‐solving ground‐related issuesLiaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholdersEnsure compliance with relevant standards, safety requirements, and project specificationsExperience & Skills RequiredProven experience in tunnelling and geotechnical engineeringStrong understanding of ground conditions, soil/rock behaviour, and GI dataExperience with tunnel design methodologies and modelling softwareAbility to operate effectively within multi‐disciplinary project teamsChartered or working toward chartership (ICE, CIWEM, or similar) – desirableWhat's on OfferCompetitive freelance day rateOpportunity to support a high‐profile infrastructure projectCollaborative project environment with strong technical challengesHybrid working may be considered, but site presence will be requiredIf you're an experienced Tunnelling/Geotechnical Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity, I'd love to hear from you.Apply by sending your CV below or calling me on 0161 200 6470.
