We offer a dynamic work environment, opportunities for growth, and the chance to make a real impact in the renewable energy sector.Competitive salaryBonusFull health cover & 4x Life CoverUp to 6% employer pension contribution33 days holiday (including bank holidays)Top-tier IT equipment (laptop, mobile, etc.)What You'll Be DoingGeneral electrical design activities for the DC and AC installation of solar farms and energy storage projectsSubstation layouts, SLD preparation, wiring schematics, cable sizing calculations, earthing layouts, protection scheme development, cable containment solutions, etc.Ensure engineering designs are completed to planned timescalesReading design specifications and technical drawingsEvaluating technical specifications in the tender documentation packages and reviewing risks and implications of the requirementsProviding engineering and technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analysing and resolving project challengesAttend project progress meetings with engineering managementManage relationships and work with Technical Advisor on development sites but also ad hoc requirementsSupport of sales and purchasing with technical descriptions and datasheet validation, generation of balance of Materials BOMSupport of the construction department in the implementation, in the project realisation phase including regular visits to projects throughout the construction phaseClose exchange with colleagues in layout design, purchasing, project development, project management and the subsidiariesPreparation of as-built calculations and drawings packageTechnical documentation after completion of a projectInteract with the Sales team and the rest of the engineering disciplines to integrate specifications into the design conceptSupport the company's goals and represent the company positively and professionallyAdhere to all Company policies/procedures and business ethics codes including the anti-bribery policy and QHSE policy.What We're Looking ForHNC/HND or equivalent minimum; BSc, BEng or equivalent with an electrical or renewable engineering biasExperience in Solar PV DesignExperience within renewables industry, energy storage either in consultancy, DNO, ICP, renewable energy developer, or alternatively another engineering environmentKnowledge and understanding of international and UK electrical standardsKnowledge of main players in the industry (TA's, Investors, EPC, third-party labs etc)Innovative spiritAbility to deal with ambiguity and problem solvingAbility to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholdersExcellent communication and presentation skillsStructured and well-organised method of workJoin a company that's shaping the future of clean energy across the UK and Europe.
