We're team Granola If you haven't already, you should check out what we're building, and why you should work here.We're looking for an Android Engineer who loves building products in a fast-paced, iterative environment.In this role, you'll transform everything we've learned on macOS and iOS into a distinctly Android experience. You'll architect our Android app from the ground up, talk directly with users to decide what ships next, and own the Play Store launch. As part of the core product team, you'll unlock the next 100x users for Granola on mobile.In this role, you will:Build Granola for Android from the ground up, owning every layer from architecture to the final shipped experienceArchitect a modern Kotlin + Jetpack Compose codebase that feels native to Android from day oneBring Granola's audio magic, transcription, chat, and next-generation AI features to AndroidExplore on-device ML with Google's latest models alongside Granola's AI engineersPrototype our first Wear OS companion experience completely from scratchUse bleeding-edge AI coding tools (Codex, Claude Code, etc.) the moment they ship—no bureaucracyBuild on the newest Android APIsShare your wildest demos in bi-weekly all-hands sessions and ship the ones that hitMove fast with rapid experimentation and prototyping, doubling down on what resonates with usersDevelop totally novel interfaces and interactions for audio capture, playback, and more that make our app feel effortless and delightfulYour background looks something like:You've shipped polished Android apps end-to-end, from greenfield architecture to launch and iterationYou're fluent in Kotlin, at home in Jetpack Compose, and willing to dive into lower-level Android frameworks when neededYou've built (or are excited to build) real-time experiences or media featuresYou're curious about on-device ML and AI-assisted product features, and eager to partner with our AI engineers to bring them to lifeRapid prototyping, demoing work, and iterating directly with designers and users feels natural to youAs a person, you...Are first and foremost a builderAre excited to work in-person from our office in London (most of the time)Love working in a startup environment (you either have experience working in a startup or are really drawn to the zero-to-one phase)Value working with people who are kind, ambitious and pragmaticHave an interest in AI/ML (direct experience not required)Thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and prioritiesAbout the opportunityWe are living in the most exciting time for tool builders since Engelbart's demo in 1968.
