London based technology innovator and several partners are working in stealth mode to advance the design of a disruptive, highly energy efficient aircraft for long-distance air travel.By joining this project, you will become part of a world-class team of engineers committed to achieve the biggest leap in aviation since the introduction of the jet engine.Task description• Perform conceptual design activities on a novel aircraft concept (evaluation of performance requirements, aircraft synthesis and optimization, weight assessment, aerodynamic analysis, engine and landing gear integration, flight dynamics assessment)• Manage the design repository and digital twin of a new aircraft concept• Guide engineering activities of team members, partners, and consultants to de-risk a new airframe technologyQualifications• Strong foundation in aircraft design (aerodynamics, structures, flight dynamics and control, propulsion, performance, requirements and regulation)• 3+ years of professional experience in aircraft technology and design• Proven track record in designing aircraft• Hands on experience (windtunnel testing, scaled flight testing)• Software experience: 3DX, CATIA, Solid Works, NX, Matlab, Python, CFD tools (Ansys, VLM methods), FE tools (Nastran, Patran)
