Tooling Design Engineer6 month contractBased in AmpthillOffering up to £50ph Inside IR35Do you have experience with CREO?Do you have experience working to BS8888 standard?Do you want to work with an industry-leading company?If your answer to these is yes, then this could be the role for you!As the Tooling Design Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.You will be involved in:Develop manufacturing tooling within; CNC Machining or Composite layupDesigning any new tooling & fixturing requirementsExperienced in the creation of Technical Requirement SpecificationsCreation of detailed process instructionsCreation of Manufacturing BOM's / routings to aid ease of manufactureActive involvement in the Level 1 & 2 MDWT (Mission Directed Work Team) meetingsAssist with the Technical requirements of the relevant section of the Capital plan from definition to acceptanceSupporting full rate production of a range of productsClose liaison of activities with Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, and other functionsYour skillset may include:A background in tooling design and experience gained from within a manufacturing environmentBroad manufacturing knowledge; industry experience with CNC machining, composites, fabrication, mechanical assembly, additive manufacturingAbility to design new tooling, developing from initial concepts through to production releaseExperience using CAD software (CREO) to generate 3D models and technical drawingsExperience using PDM software (Windchill) to manage document release and changeAbility to produce detailed drawings to BS8888An understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances)Awareness of DFM/A and PFMEA principles and practical applicationKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Methodology, Quality toolset experienceExperience preparing manufacturing BOM's and routings, and manufacturing process instructionsIf this all sounds like something you will be interested in then simply apply and we can discuss the opportunity further!
