Systems Engineer – Broadcast Operations Support – London – shift basedWe're hiring a Systems Engineer to support a large-scale, live broadcast and production environment used by one of the UK's leading news and media organisations.This is a hands-on operations role focused on fault finding, incident response and preventative maintenance across studios, master control and file-based production systems. You'll work at the heart of live output, keeping critical services stable and resolving issues quickly and calmly.It suits someone from a broadcast, media or live production background who enjoys solving problems under pressure and working closely with editorial and technical teams.What you'll doDiagnose and resolve faults across broadcast and production infrastructureSupport studios, MCR and field contribution systemsMaintain ingest, editing and production asset workflowsTroubleshoot baseband video, audio and IP routing issuesAnalyse logs and escalate effectively to vendors where requiredSupport cameras, vision desks, sound consoles and talkbackWork directly with operators during live transmissionsAssist with upgrades, rollouts and technical projectsProvide clear written handovers between shiftsWork a rotating shift pattern, including out-of-hours coverWhat we're looking forExperience in broadcast TV, radio or multimedia environmentsStrong fault finding and structured troubleshooting skillsCalm, decisive approach during live incidentsUnderstanding of production, post-production and delivery workflowsKnowledge of nonlinear editing systemsFamiliarity with broadcast IP routing and distributionConfident communicator who works well with both engineers and editorial staffNice to haveWindows, Linux or macOS administrationAvid, EVS or similar file-based production systemsNewsroom or control systemsBroadcast graphics workflowsEncoding, file transfer and media managementLAN and fibre networkingPackageLondon basedShift patternCompetitive salary + benefitsStrong training and progression opportunitiesIf you have broadcast engineering or media systems experience and want to work in a fast-paced live environment, please get in touch for more details.
