Senior Quality Assurance EngineerCumbria Site-Based (Security Cleared Role)40 hours per week12 Month ContractSecurity Clearance Required: SC – Must be Sole BritishAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support delivery within a highly regulated environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring quality compliance across project activities, supporting audits, overseeing inspection and test documentation, and driving continuous improvement within the Integrated Management System (IMS).This is a key assurance role requiring strong technical understanding, vendor oversight capability, and experience within major hazard or regulated industries.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce, review, and endorse Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).Undertake compliance verification activities to ensure adherence to project requirements.Liaise with Quality Control and inspection stakeholders to verify:Processes, Documentation, ITPsWeld procedures and related technical submissionsEnsure project quality standards are consistently achieved and raise authorised documentation where non-conformance is identified.Review and update the Integrated Management System (IMS) as required.Maintain package status and progress reporting, raising issues and coordinating with project and client QA/QC teams.Support internal and external audits, track actions, and implement improvements to reduce non-compliances.Advise procurement teams on vendor competence to ensure quality considerations inform supplier selection.Required ExperienceStrong working knowledge of: ISO 9001:2015Contractor Quality Requirements (SLM 4.06.02)Technical understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering disciplines.Extensive Quality Assurance experience within regulated or major hazard industries.Experience working within structured management systems and audit frameworks.Qualifications (Preferred)Internal Auditor qualification/ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certificationDegree in a relevant discipline OR professional qualification (e.g., CQI Level 5 Diploma)Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or working towards professional statusAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
