Joining Waterman Aspen as Highways Design Engineer will see you as a key member of the London North team and you can expect:A varied client base where you can apply and develop your skillsBuy-in from clients to assist in your technical progressionFurther exposure to your chosen industry - increasing your awareness, knowledge and sharpening your skillsThe flexibility to broaden your horizons with each new secondment, without changing your employerCareer development and training to reach your professional or academic qualification goals supported by our own network of mentors and managersPaid subscription to a professional body of your choiceRegular social events and volunteering opportunitiesExperience required...Design and construction experience in highwayscommercial awarenessWorking knowledge of Local Authority and national design standards and contractsWorking knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management) regulationsAbility to contribute to engineering projects with values exceeding £1m from initiation through to completion with support of a senior engineer.Computer literate particularly Microsoft Excel and WordExperience of the NEC suite of contract documentsKnowledge of highway design guidance and standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, TSRGD, MCHW and other relevant codes of practice and design standardsAbility to compile specifications and Bills of Quantities (BoQ)Proficient in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience would be advantageous)Full UK/EEC driving licenceQualifications:Essential:Educated to HND or degree level in civil engineering BEng/Meng (or equivalent)Hold or be working towards an appropriate professional qualification (IEng / CEng etc).
