Job Description

Electronics Engineer – Space Sector*Due to strict export control and contractual obligations, we are unable to consider applications from non-UK or non-EU citizens. The company can sponsor EU citizens to work in the UK where required.*We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer from the space sector to support the delivery of imager electronics for a satellite payload for our NewSpace client - a rapidly expanding space technology company based in the UK.This is a hands-on position working closely with the Optical Imaging and Electronics teams to drive the development, enhancement, testing, and delivery of payload electronics through manufacture, Assembly, Integration & Verification (AIV), and final delivery.You will receive day-to-day technical direction from the onsite electronics lead, while line management and performance oversight will remain with your employing organisation. Following completion of the build phase, there will be an opportunity to transition into a broader technical role to support future payload electronics development and strategy.This position offers strong professional growth within a dynamic and fast-growing space environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign analogue and digital electronics for optical payload subsystems, including schematics and board-level designs suitable for manufacture and testSupport electronics architecture, board and FPGA interfacing activitiesPerform circuit simulation, debugging, and lab-based validationDevelop and support test and verification activities through manufacture and AIVCreate and maintain assembly procedures, test documentation, and verification reportsDevelop Electronics Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)Ensure traceability of design data and technical documentationCollaborate with system engineers on system budgets, trade-offs, and schedulesEssential Qualifications & ExperienceDegree (or equivalent) in Electronics or Electrical EngineeringProven experience in space electronicsExperience in mixed-signal designStrong circuit-level debugging and testing skillsKnowledge of FPGA design (VHDL)Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, TCL)Experience using laboratory test equipmentStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to work autonomously and manage schedule pressuresExperience with PCB design tools and low-volume, high-reliability manufacturing environments is desirable.Desirable SkillsHighly organised and self-motivatedStrong team collaboration skillsAbility to influence and communicate effectively at all levelsCustomer-facing confidenceResults-driven with strong problem-solving skillsComfortable managing multiple prioritiesAdaptable and proactivePassionate about space technologyWhy Apply?Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge satellite technologyWork within a collaborative and high-growth space environmentGain valuable onsite experience with a leading satellite manufacturerPlay a key role in delivering advanced space-based systemsIf you are interested, please apply today.
