Senior EstimatorLocation: BirminghamContract: PermanentSmart City Recruiters are working in partnership with a leading affordable housing developer who, due to continued growth, are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their established and successful pre-construction team. The role will report to the Commercial Manager and Regional Director.Our client works closely with Housing Associations and Local Authorities to secure land, achieve planning, and deliver high-quality new-build affordable housing schemes across the UK. Their portfolio includes general needs housing, older persons accommodation, and supported housing projects. They are recognised as one of the fastest-growing affordable housing developers in the region.About the RoleAs Senior Estimator, you will take ownership of the end-to-end tender process, ensuring all bids are commercially robust, accurately priced, and delivered in line with agreed deadlines and company standards.This is a permanent, office-based role with travel across the Midlands and Northwest as required. The position offers strong long-term career progression within a growing business.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of detailed tender submissions, budgets, and cost plansManagement and control of the tender process from initial enquiry through to post-tender stageAttending and leading mid-tender and post-tender meetingsPost-tender analysis and value engineering where requiredBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clientsLiaising with sub-contractors and suppliers, utilising existing supply chains and developing new relationshipsEnsuring all tenders are commercially viable and aligned with business objectivesMaintaining quality and compliance in line with company QA proceduresSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience in a Senior Estimator role within Affordable HousingStrong technical knowledge across all aspects of affordable housing constructionExcellent commercial awareness and financial acumenAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong leadership qualities, leading by example within the pre-construction teamExtensive knowledge of supply chains and sub-contractorsProficient in estimation software and electronic tendering platformsWell-organised, thorough, and able to manage competing deadlinesStrong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approachFor more information, Please forward your up to date CV to
