Field Service EngineerIf you enjoy life on the road, working across multiple territories, and spending significant time away from home, this Field Service Engineer role is built for you. This is a Field Service Engineer opportunity for engineers who thrive on travel, autonomy, and technically demanding work across Southern Ireland, Northern Ireland, the North of England, and Scotland.As a Field Service Engineer, you will spend a large proportion of your time travelling across Southern Ireland (circa 50%), the North of England and Scotland (circa 30%), and Northern Ireland (circa 20%), supporting customers with the installation, servicing, and repair of high-precision CNC and metal-cutting machinery. This is not a local patch role and will involve regular overnight stays and extended periods away from home.You will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical service rather than high-volume callouts, acting as the technical face of the business in the field. The role offers structured manufacturer training, exposure to advanced machinery, and optional international travel for further development.Job ResponsibilitiesInstall high-precision CNC and metal-cutting machinery across Southern Ireland, Northern Ireland, the North of England, and ScotlandCarry out planned and reactive service work on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systemsDiagnose faults and complete on-site repairs in line with manufacturer specificationsCommission new machinery and complete full customer handoversOrder replacement parts and manage repairs using technical documentationProvide operator and basic maintenance training following installationsMaintain accurate service reports, job records, and machine historiesPlan and manage your own workload while travelling extensively between sitesLiaise with the Service Manager on job progress, parts availability, and technical issuesAttend technical and product training courses as requiredUndertake international travel for specialist installations or training when neededSkills and ExperiencePrevious experience working as a Field Service Engineer on high-precision machineryStrong background in CNC lathes, metal-cutting machinery, or similar equipmentProven mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilityExperience working with PLC systems and ladder logicConfident reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawingsComfortable with extensive travel and regular overnight staysAble to work independently and manage time effectively while on the roadPay and BenefitsSalary up to £35,000OTE £48,000+ with bonus potentialMonday to Friday working patternExtensive travel across Southern Ireland, Northern Ireland, North of England, and ScotlandCompany car provided (BMW 330e or similar)Annual company performance bonusMonthly bonus linked to machinery salesPension contribution matched up to 6%22 days holiday plus bank holidaysThis Field Service Engineer role is ideal for engineers who actively want a travelling role and enjoy variety, independence, and technical challenge.
