The successful candidate will have experience in all plastering techniques and possession of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Casting Certificate. You will have a compassionate and caring personality, enjoy working with people and wanting to make a difference to the patients journey. This is an extremely busy department and the post holder will be expected to work in all areas of Fracture, Orthopaedic and Specialist Paediatric Clinic. The departments also attends ED, Wards and Theatres as requested. You will carry out duties deemed as necessary by the service. This is a varied role, requiring an organised approach, attention to detail and proficient in communication and administration work. A broad theoretical and practical knowledge base is required to deliver exceptional care to patients requiring application of casts and splints whilst undergoing treatment. This post offers a great opportunity to develop new skills, as well as, updating existing, full training and support will be given where needed. Main duties of the job To work as a Trained Orthopaedic Technician within a team of technicians delivering a service to Trauma and Orthopaedics, A&E, UCC, Wards, Theatres and other departments across the Trust. The postholder will provide direct and indirect care at a high level for patients in the Fracture/Orthopaedic/Paediatric Clinics, Wards/Theatres and other areas of the Trust.
